The people behind the National Snow Show in Birmingham are to stage an event at Excel in East London next year, October 20th – 21st 2023. PlanetSKI has the details. NEW

The news has not been officially announced, but here at PlanetSKI we understand the show will mirror much of the Birmingham Show.

There will be ski resorts/areas taking stands, plus tour operators and retailers.

Emphasis will be put on keynote speakers and getting people to become excited about the winter season ahead.

It is hoped there will be a ski slope.

There will, of course be drink/food and apres ski.

DJs will be playing mountain grooves.

It will take place the weekend following Birmingham and aims to attract the London and Southern market.

Many people in the industry have welcomed the move and are already looking forward to it.

“Wow, that is brilliant news, hoorah!. Finally, it makes sense,” said one industry insider to us.

We understand many of the key exhibitors at Birmingham have been consulted and informed of the new show.

We will have reaction from the public and assess its likely impact when further details are announced.

The last Ski & Snowboard Show to take place in London was in October 2019.

It was run by Telegraph Events who pulled the plug on it in February 2020.

Then along came Covid-19 shortly after.

A resurrected London Ski Show was promised in 2021 and in 2022.

But neither materialised and many first read about its final demise on PlanetSKI as we broke the news:

It seemed the capital could not put on a ski/snowboard show – until now.

The backers of the new London show, Racoon Events, are the people behind the National Snow Show at the NEC in Birmingham.

It made its debut last autumn and is back again this weekend.

We are expected further details of the new London Show to be revealed shortly and will bring you information as soon as we receive it.

Some of the people and organisations at Birmingham this weekend have said they will likely be in London in October 2023.

With much of the UK snowsports industry and many ski areas already showing interest the new show looks like being a very promising development.

Here at PlanetSKI we’ll keep you posted.
